Project Planning Services"A successful project usually starts with thorough project planning," says Joel Kohler, an experienced Denver and Boulder based project planner who has the foresight to help your project succeed. "Project planning is the ounce of prevention that is worth a pound of cure," adds Joel. "It encompasses development of the project plan, and follows through into a breakdown of the work to be performed, and finishes with the integrated project schedule."
The project plan is the formal document that is used to guide and control the execution of the project. All of the work on the project must be planned, scheduled, and budgeted. The sum of all this effort makes up the project plan's scope. The work breakdown structure contains a detailed description of each of the project deliverables. This work analysis is the foundation to the project management planning process. It is a precursor to the integrated project schedule. The Integrated project schedule (or IPS) identifies all project activities within a work package, such as the duration, resource requirements, and the organization performing the work. Once the project execution begins, the IPS is the pulse and the pulse rate of the project. The IPS is developed from the work breakdown schedule. When completed, the IPS becomes the logical sequence of all project activities, along with the resource requirements to get the job done. Joel Kohler is an experienced project planner, who has been involved in the development of project plans, work packages, work breakdown structures, budgets, and integrated project schedules.
